The Junior league is a RECREATIONAL league for 11-17 year olds who may or may not have had previous soccer experience.

JUNIOR LEAGUES

The league is co-ed and plays all of the games at the North County Soccer Park. The stadium-field (6 v 6) and the mini-field (3 v 3) allow for continuous action and enables all the Junior players to practice the important soccer skills such as shooting, dribbling, passing, and ball control. Because the fields are so conducive to learning, the Junior league is designed as a "learn through experience" style program. Registration is for an 8-game season.

The Junior coaches are volunteers (Moms or Dads) who are not required to have a substantial soccer background. The coaches are expected to organize the Juniors on the field, make substitutions so that all the players play approximately half the game, and provide positive encouragement and feedback. The coaches are not required to give extensive, soccer instruction. In fact, teams are discouraged from holding organized practices although it is allowed and occasionally Junior teams do practice.

THINGS TO DO AFTER YOU HAVE REGISTERED

• Outfit your child with shin guards (mandatory), shorts, a size 4 ball, and water. On our fields we suggest rubber-molded cleats (NO metal cleats allowed).
• Call the NCSP two days before to confirm the first game time and team. (858) 748-4260
• If you would like, bring your son or daughter to watch a portion of a game in the current season if he/she in unfamiliar with indoor soccer or the junior league.

SPECIAL REGISTRATION NOTES

• Every player may choose one preferred player to play with them, and that child should also request him/her. That request should be made on the registration form.
• Registration is always conducted on as first come, first serve basis. There is no registration deadline, although the program does usually sell out. Please register early!
• Starting dates for all leagues may change due to rain outs from the prior season.
• Sorry, NO REFUNDS after the first scheduled game. Refunds before the first game will be less a $10.00 administration fee.
