A Little History... |
The North County Soccer Park is a RECREATIONAL place for kids and adults of all ages and abilities to play soccer. There are two arenas that provide indoor soccer in an outdoor facility. We have top-of-the-line astro-turf for you to play on. The stadium field is the largest indoor soccer arena in San Diego County and has the new kind of turf technology-Field Turf so players can wear their soccer cleats. The smaller mini-field is fun and innovative and has brand new traditional turf so players can wear their rubber sole indoor or "tennis" shoes. There is also a large grass field with soccer goals for practice and free play. We have an indoor area for you to come in and hang out after the game, with a full concessions stand, and an office where you can come and talk to us about any questions or comments that you may have. There is always a manager on staff to help you. |
In February of 1986, Tom Schwartz and Mark Bentley opened the North County Soccer Park with 85 teams. Building the park took six months to complete, and when it was finished, it became the only soccer facility in San Diego (the El Cajon facility had closed), and the FIRST indoor/outdoor soccer facility anywhere! It was a new idea and people loved it. NCSP had people driving from all over to play soccer! |

In September 2000, Dave Brennan and his wife, Lynne, bought the North County Soccer Park and have been spending almost all their time making it the BEST place to play soccer in San Diego County. People are still driving from all over the county to play here (Chula Vista, Ramona, Temecula, and Del Mar to name a few) even though there are closer places for them to play soccer. At times during the year, there are as many as 190 teams coming every week. They are very involved in the Inland North County communities-so almost everyone feels familiar and at home when they come to the park. In fact, I am sure you have seen our business car, "Goal Patrol" cruising around Poway more than a few times! Yes, the white VW Beetle painted to look like a big soccer ball-that's the one! |

Starting out with about 800 people almost 20 years ago, we now have over 13,000 kids on record who have played here, and the majority of them play regularly with 340 kids enrolled in Lil' Kickers classes. Plus, there are more than 500 adults that currently play every season...and over the years, there have been thousands total! The number keeps growing every day, and we hope that you enjoy playing here at the North County Soccer Park just a much as every soccer player in San Diego! |
